September stitching on Sea Stars

Here is my progress on Sea Stars - none posted for August, as there WAS no progress in August - always a busy month, with holidays :)

Still not stitching a lot - got final exam on November 30th, and a dissertation to be finished and marked off for the final interview on November 15th.  Will be glad to be finished TBH!

Baby shower!



For V



On one of my groups we are holding a virtual baby shower for V, one of our members, and someone I've known for years!  This is some of the contents - there are also a couple of sachets of Body Shop Baby Buriti Body Butter.  The Aristocat kitty is a sort of snuggly for a new baby - the pink velour material is so soft, I hope V's new baby girl likes it.  The Hallowe'en ornament is for her older daughter, it's a shame older siblings have to miss out.  The 2010 ornament is for the whole family; but maybe especially for the new baby when she arrives.

Here is the first of my holiday finishes - the two ornaments that I finished need a little more finishing so I'll post photos when they're done :)

I started this ages ago, but didn't like the extremely long stitches used - didn't think that it was practical for a bookmark if it were to be used, as the pages of the book could get caught up in the long stitches.  Eventually I took it away to finish it, and decided to shorten most of the very long stitches - I didn't do any long stitches longer than three aida squares, so I think that it's more practical to actually use now!  Now I love the design - certainly shrieks summer - would probably be too hot for our fair skins, but it looks lovely!

This is my part of Isabel's round robin - just one more to stitch on it and it's done :)  Sorry - still no photos from holidays - will do it soon, promise!
