Four Seasons Giveaway!

Well, I'm really so sorry that it's taken me so long to get around to posting these details - I think I'm about ten days after when I said I'd do it :o( College has taken up just too much of my time lately - it's getting tough at the moment, or maybe I'm just getting old, lol! Work has also been hectic, having to make up the time for the snow days.

Anyway - here it is, and those of you who have already asked, yes you're in the giveaway already!!

I've got a Winter Mill Hill snowman in there - 'Joy Snowman'. Spring is a Victorian Pansies Textile Heritage bookmark. Summer is a Mill Hill Flip Flops magnet and Autumn is a limited edition set of hand-dyed floss from GAST.

January ornament(s) finished and a giveaway!

I've actually got two ornaments to show off - they were actually finished some time ago, but I've been busy catching up on work and college with the time/sessions missed with the snow. It's hard to get motivated with college at the moment. There are three terms left, and sometimes it's hard to find time to get the assignments done. Also, I really don't like one of the two subjects that I'm to take in June. I guess I just have to get on with it - seven terms down, three to go!

This first ornament is from my Ozark Sampler Thread SAL - done in Plum Pudding on opalescent evenweave. It looks much brighter in real life! I'll probably use what's left of the Plum Pudding next month. Later on I'm planning to do one or two 'over one', and make them into scissor keeps.

And secondly - here's my ILCS Snowman SAL completed. He's by Mill Hill, and in real life he SPARKLES! I might try to get another snowman done, as the SAL lasts into February.

I'm planning on doing a give-away on one of these Mill Hill snowman kits, as thanks to Meagan for hosting the stash giveaway that I was fortunate enough to win! I hope to post about it early next week, when I check which one of these I actually have hidden away here somewhere :o)

Progress on Ocean Lights and my snowman!

On our fourth snow day for the younger two! The older three got to school - dh took them the thirteen mile round trip, as the two eldest had public exams today, so it was very important that they got there. The two littles ones are at a school three and a half miles away - Bridie was sick this morning, and was sleeping peacefully when it was time to leave, so I let her sleep on, and Eoin gets another day off school. I hear from my friend that the roads were still very icy, so I don't feel bad about keeping him off!

Here are updates on two of my projects - I've not taken any photos of my Chatelaine recently, so here's my progress picture. It's great fun stitching this one, and the beaded seahorse is wonderful. I can only work on it when there's no-one around though, as it takes loads of concentration!

And here's my Snowman SAL piece - very nearly finished now - might get it done by the end of the week. I shall have to find another snowman to stitch, as it feels very appropriate for our weather at the moment. Though I have wondered if I should stitch something 'summery' to see if it might change the weather!

The children are out there now, playing snowballs with the other children living in the road - I expect Bridie (aged six) won't be out there long, if a dog/cat/hamster appears she will be terrified and won't go out again!

Snow!

Looks like we're all at home today - except maybe dh who can walk to work. Both schools that my five attend are closed, my work-place is closed (today should have been my first day back!), and my college is closed - so it's an official Snow Day! Snow is still falling too - and more forecast for weekend. All kids just longing to get outside in it, so don't expect to get much stitching done, but in fact I should have been back at work, then college, so wouldn't have been stitching today anyway, lol!

First finish of 2010!

Happy New Year everyone!

I actually have a small finish - I'm taking part in a SAL on the Ozark Sampler Threads Yahoo group, we are using Ozark Sampler Threads, and showing our stitching each month. These threads are absolutely gorgeous, and it's hard to pick out which ones to use! In the end, for the first one, I picked out Plum Pudding from the special edition pack that I've just received from Mary - and also a piece of opalescent evenweave that was in the pack. It doesn't actually show in the photo that it is opalescent unfortunately. The design is from a very old edition of New Stitches - I am going to use the finished pieces to make up into Christmas ornaments - hopefully you'll see the first one finished off next month (I'm using two 'halves' to make one 'whole' - logical!).

I've also been stitching my ILCS Yahoo group Snowman SAL - to be completed by the end of February 2010. I did start a couple of days early, and I love stitching him, so I hope to finish early. If I do, I have another snowman in mind to continue the fun! He's Mill Hill of course, my favourite!
